Privacy Policy

Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But hey, we're trying to be straight with you about how we handle your info when you bring your ride to our shop.

Alright, so when you swing by our shop or hit us up online, we're gonna need some basic stuff to keep track of your vehicle and make sure we can reach you when your car's ready.

Personal Details:
  • Your name (kinda obvious, right?)
  • Phone number - so we can call when we find that mystery rattle
  • Email address - for invoices and appointment reminders
  • Home address - sometimes we need it for parts delivery or insurance paperwork
Vehicle Information:
  • Make, model, year - the basics
  • VIN number - helps us order the right parts every time
  • Mileage and service history - so we know what's been done before
  • Any custom mods you've had done (because trust me, we need to know if you've already tuned that ECU)
Payment Stuff:

Credit card info, billing addresses - though our payment processor handles the heavy lifting on this one. We don't actually store your full card numbers on our systems.

We're not selling your info to sketchy third parties or anything shady like that. Here's what we actually do with it:

  • Service your vehicle - pretty straightforward. Can't fix your car if we don't know whose it is
  • Send appointment reminders - nobody wants to forget their brake job appointment
  • Process payments - gotta get paid somehow
  • Keep service records - helps us track what's been done and what needs attention next time
  • Send occasional updates - like if there's a recall on your model or we're running a special on services you might need
  • Improve our services - feedback and service data helps us get better at what we do

We won't spam you with marketing junk every day. That's annoying and we hate it too.

Your info lives on secure servers here in Canada. We use a cloud-based shop management system that's encrypted and backed up regularly. Basically, we're not keeping everything on some old dusty computer in the back office.

We keep your data as long as you're a customer, plus a few years after for warranty and legal reasons. If you haven't been back in like 7 years, we'll probably purge your old records unless there's a legal reason to keep 'em.

All our systems comply with Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA for those keeping track at home).

We're not in the business of selling your data. But there are a few situations where we gotta share some info:

  • Parts suppliers - sometimes we need to give them your VIN to get the right parts shipped
  • Payment processors - they handle the credit card transactions securely
  • Insurance companies - if you're filing a claim for repairs, they'll need the details
  • Legal requirements - if a court orders us to hand over records, we gotta comply
  • Warranty claims - manufacturers might need service records if you're claiming warranty work

That's about it. We don't hand out customer lists to marketing companies or anything like that.

Yeah, we use cookies on our website. Not the chocolate chip kind (though those would be way better).

What cookies do:
  • Remember your preferences when you visit our site
  • Keep you logged into our appointment booking system
  • Help us see which pages people actually look at
  • Track where visitors come from (like Google or social media)

We use Google Analytics to see how people use our site. It's anonymized data - we can see "someone from Vancouver looked at our engine diagnostics page" but not "John Smith from 123 Main St looked at this."

You can disable cookies in your browser if you want, but it might make some parts of the site work weird.

Under Canadian law, you've got some rights when it comes to your personal info. Here's what you can do:

  • Access your data - wanna see what we've got on file? Just ask and we'll send it over
  • Correct mistakes - if we've got the wrong phone number or whatever, let us know and we'll fix it
  • Delete your info - if you're done with us, you can request we delete everything (with some legal exceptions for tax records and stuff)
  • Opt out of marketing - don't wanna get our emails? There's an unsubscribe link, or just tell us
  • Complain - if you think we're mishandling your data, you can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at service@lumirionvoidsaga.info or give us a call at (604) 555-7823.

We take security pretty seriously - same attention to detail we use on your engine builds, actually.

What we do to protect your info:
  • Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) on our website - you'll see that little padlock in your browser
  • Secure, password-protected systems for our staff
  • Regular backups in case something goes wrong
  • Limited access - only staff who need your info to do their job can see it
  • Payment info handled by certified payment processors, not stored on our local systems

Look, no system is 100% hack-proof, but we're doing everything reasonable to keep your data safe. If there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP as required by law.

We might update this privacy policy from time to time - laws change, we might add new services, whatever. When we make changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

If there's a major change that affects how we handle your data, we'll shoot you an email or put up a notice on our website. We won't just slip in something sneaky and hope nobody notices.

It's a good idea to check back here once in a while, especially if you're the type who actually reads these things (respect, by the way).
